Options:
On Connected-Papers’ home page, you can enter your origin paper using a DOI, the paper’s title, or the paper’s URL from platforms like arXiv, PubMed, or Semantic Scholar.
Building a Graph:
After entering the details, click on “Build a graph.” For this tutorial, a specific paper was used, which you can read more about [here](provide the link).
Read the Graph:
Graph Panels: Once you enter, three panels greet you. Focus on the graph panel for now.
Each node on the graph represents a research paper related to your original paper.
Unlike a basic citation tree, these papers are arranged by similarity.
Node Size and Color:
The size of a node shows the number of citations, and the color represents the publishing year—lighter is older.
Similar papers have stronger connecting lines and tend to cluster together.
Explore the Graph:
Scroll Through Papers: In the left panel, scroll through papers.
Clicking on a paper there highlights it on the graph.
Navigation:
Navigate the graph by clicking on specific nodes.
The right-side panel updates with more information about the selected paper.
